Ambassador Bogyay served as the 15th Permanent Representative of Hungary to the United Nations, New York (2015- 2020) and as her country’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO in Paris (2009-2014). She was elected unanimously as President of UNESCO’s 36th General Conference (2011- 2013) in Paris, the 3rd ever woman to this position since 1945.
